Bilingual, Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner

Hi, I’m Susan!

SHE/HER

Reaching out for mental health support can feel overwhelming. As a bilingual Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner, I strive to provide compassionate and evidenced based care to all of my clients. I use a collaborative approach to help you find the most appropriate interventions to meet your needs through supportive discussions and medication management.

It is my goal to ensure that you have the most up to date information to make well-informed healthcare decisions that you feel comfortable with.

My Story

My life experiences have lead me to where I am today and they have inspired me to help others. I know what it feels like to struggle and how empowering it is to overcome those struggles with the right support.

As an undergraduate I majored in Spanish, not sure which career path to choose other than knowing I wanted to be in a helping profession where I could use my Spanish-speaking ability. I volunteer in AmeriCorps and taught English in South America, which taught me some important life lessons.

However it wasn’t until I started to unpack parts of my past and started to face the worries that held me back before I could move forward in life. Ultimately I found my path to nursing. Seven years into my nursing career I decided to specialize in mental health. I found that in every setting that I worked, I had a certain sensitivity for understanding and meeting people’s emotional needs. It wasn’t until later I realized that sensitivity and ability to connect with others came from my own lived experience.

I recognize that everyone’s story is unique and there is no one-size-fits-all solution . It’s my goal to meet you where you are and to help you find your own path to a more peaceful and empowered state of mind.

I believe an empowered mind is:

STRONG It may seem counterintuitive but admitting that you can’t overcome all of life’s challenges on your own, takes great strength. I can help you develop a personalized toolkit so you can tackle those challenges.

BRAVE Being brave doesn’t mean being fearless and worry free. Being brave is dreaming big and taking steps towards pursuing those dreams. I can help you find a way to manage the fears and the negative thoughts so you can do just that.

FREE When you reach out and commit to walking on this journey with me, you can free yourself from the internal struggles creating a roadblock in your life.
